One estate. One family.
A trade passed down.
David Taus grows, harvests and produces on his own estate in the Maestrat. This is the story of how a real estate agent returned to the land of his ancestors.
From the city
to the Maestrat
David Taus was born in Càlig, although he now lives with his family in Traiguera. After studying Business Administration and Management, he entered the real estate world during the boom of the early 2000s.
The 2008 economic crisis closed that chapter: a turning point. It was time to reinvent himself. He missed the region, the smell of wet earth, the almond blossom, the carpet of olive trees in February. He realised his life made sense in the Maestrat, the land of his ancestors.
He chose to open a new path close to his roots, with a trade he had known since childhood. In 2015 he created Pobill Ecològics, CB, the company that brings together the family's organic farmland.
«El Pobill» is the nickname of his father's family (the first «pubill» was his father's great-grandfather, who married a «pubilla»). The name pays tribute to the ancestors and their lands. «Ecològics» refers to the type of farming he champions: the only way we know to give the land back what it has given us.
«We give away the oil; what you pay for is the story in every bottle, the culture and the effort it holds.»

We open our doors to the public to offer experiences that reconnect people with nature, flavor and culture.
Preserving agricultural heritage
We recover and care for centuries-old olive trees and other agricultural treasures that are part of our identity.
The estates of the Maestrat
The estates stretch across the municipalities of Cervera, Càlig, Traiguera, Benicarló and Vinaròs: around 200 jornales of cultivated, productive land, some family-owned and some leased. We also tend around 15 hectares of carob trees.
The largest of all the estates: mandarin trees and arbequina olives, in the heart of the Maestrat.
This is where David's maternal grandparents met (an estate with its own family history).
Organic arbequina olives. It was previously a Republican airfield during the Civil War.
From olive to bottle
Growing
Organic management of the olive grove all year round: pruning, living ground cover and zero synthetic chemicals.
Harvest
Beating at the optimal ripening moment, usually between October and November.
Pressing
Cold-pressed within hours of harvest, to preserve aroma and properties.
Filtering
Separation of plant residue and vegetation water without losing the phenolic compounds.
Bottling
Packaged in dark glass or tins, protected from light, batch by batch.
Delivery
From the estate to your table, with no middlemen or big warehouses.
Twenty-four recognitions.
Every harvest is submitted to blind tasting before official panels, here and abroad. This is the complete record since 2022, season by season: competition, category and the specific oil that took part.
